Training and Development Youth Worker

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Training and Development Youth Worker to join our team.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and overseeing training and development programs aimed at empowering and supporting youth in their personal and professional growth.

As a Training and Development Youth Worker, you will collaborate with youth, community organisations, and stakeholders to create tailored programs that address the unique needs and challenges faced by young people.

You will be delivering (and ideally assessing) the L2 Award in Youth Work Principles and supporting our Young Professionals as they complete their L3 Youth Support Worker Apprenticeship. You will also be supervising our Level 6 Youth Work Apprentices.

Program Development:

  • Develop comprehensive training and development programs for youth, focusing on areas such as life skills, career readiness, leadership, and personal development.
  • Collaborate with community partners, educational institutions, and employers to design programs that align with current industry trends and youth interests.

Implementation and Facilitation:

  • Deliver engaging and interactive training sessions and workshops to youth participants, utilizing a variety of instructional methods and resources.
  • Provide one-on-one coaching and support to youth to help them set and achieve personal and professional goals.

Assessment and Evaluation:

  • Conduct assessments and evaluations to measure the effectiveness of training programs and identify areas for improvement.
  • Gather feedback from youth participants and stakeholders to ensure programs are meeting their needs and expectations.

Mentorship and Support:

  • Serve as a mentor and positive role model for youth, offering guidance, encouragement, and support as they navigate challenges and pursue their aspirations.
  • Build rapport and establish trusting relationships with youth participants to create a safe and supportive environment for learning and growth.

Community Engagement:

  • Cultivate partnerships with local organisations, businesses, and schools to expand opportunities for youth development and employment.
  • Represent the organisation at community events, meetings, and forums to promote awareness of youth programs and initiatives..

Essential Criteria

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Youth Work (JNC) or a related field
  • 3 years post qualification experience of working with young people.
  • Training and Assessing qualification L3 or 4 (such as A1, D32, D33 or L3 Assessment Award)
  • Previous experience working with youth in a training, mentoring, or counselling capacity.
  • Strong understanding of youth development principles and best practices.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups of youth and stakeholders.
  • Commitment to fostering a supportive and inclusive environment for youth from diverse backgrounds.

Desirable Criteria

  • Certification in youth development, counselling, or related field.
  • Experience in curriculum development and program evaluation.
  • Previous experience of working with Apprenticeships L3 – 6
  • Proficiency in relevant software applications for program management and data analysis.

Salary Range:
ยฃ27,000 - ยฃ32,000 pro rata per annum
