Last Friday, Maddie addressed more than 350 guests at Londonโs Landmark Hotel on Marylebone for The Wooden Spoonโs Ruby Rugby Ball which was hosted by BBC pundit and Union Rugby star David Flatman to raise money and celebrate the charityโs 40th anniversary.
In November 2022 Maddie spoke at the regional Wooden Spoon Luncheon at Blackpoolโs Village Hotel where representatives from the charityโs national platform identified a potential ambassador for their London showcase.
Maddie has recently been appointed as The BHYโs Youth CEO. As part of her role she represents our organisation at local, regional and national events – such as these. Since taking on the role Maddie has also participated in the Red Rose Awards Finalistsโ Interviews.
Maddie was joined in London by peer-chaperone and best friend Millie together with members of staff, trustees and patrons from The Boathouse Youth.
During the illustrious events of last Friday, at the exquisite London venue, Maddie met several rugby stars and other ambassadors of the charity and had an opportunity to share how investment from the Wooden Spoon to Blackpool had supported her community.
The Wooden Spoon funded the conversion of the old South Shore Library on Lytham Road into the Bloomfield Youth Centre back in 2012.
